ICE Double-Up on Spokane

Winnipeg ICE forward Zach Benson recorded his first WHL hat trick Friday night at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena as the ICE doubled the Spokane Chiefs 6-3.

Benson also assisted on Conor Geekie's second goal of the game.

Geekie's first goal of the night, 2:00 into the opening period was the Teddy Bear Toss goal presented by Manitoba Building Trades. All of the stuffed animals will be donated to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

Vladislav Shilo rounded out the ICE scoring as their record improved to 24-4.

Daniel Hauser made 25 saves.

Tommaso De Luca replied with two goals for Spokane (5-19-0-1). Carter Streek had the other. Goaltender Cooper Michaluk made 38 saves.

Winnipeg went 1/5 on the power play while the Chiefs went 1/4.

The ICE return to action Sunday afternoon, 5pm at the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena versus the Regina Pats.
