Overcoming a two-goal deficit, the Americans completed a third period comeback Friday as they defeated the Prince George Cougars 4-3 in overtime. Tyson Greenway scored the game-winning goal, his second overtime winner of the season.

With tonight's victory, the Americans extend their win streak to five games and improve their season record to 13-13-0-0. It it Tri-City's first five-game win streak since October 2018.

The Cougars opened scoring 3:22 into the game as Koehn Ziemmer scored short side on Americans netminder Tomas Suchanek. Two minutes late Hudson Thornton extended Prince George's lead as he scored with a one-timer through traffic. Tri-City trailed 2-0 heading into the first intermission despite outshooting Prince George 13-12.

Both teams were held scoreless in the second period with the Americans leading shots 16-14.

Tri-City finally broke past Cougars netminder Ty Young, a Vancouver Canucks draft pick, early in the third period. Deagan McMillan forced a turn over at the Americans blue line and skated to the slot where he scored with a wrist shot bar down, putting Tri-City on the board. Seconds later, Ryker Singer scored off a breakaway to regain a two-goal lead for Prince George. Jordan Gavin scored four minutes into the period with a wrist shot over the glove side of Young, putting Tri-City within one. The tying goal came with 5:41 remaining in the game from McMillan. Lukas Dragicevic recorded an assist on Greenway's goal, extending his point streak to 20 games with six goals and 23 assists over that period. The 2023 NHL Draft prospects is the first defenseman to have a 20-game point streak since Tyson Barrie had a 21 game point streak in 2009.
