PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves catcher Steve Rodriguez was placed on the disabled list with a back strain. In corresponding moves, catcher Braeden Schlehuber was transferred to Double-A Mississippi from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Rodriguez, 25, was hitting .186 in 23 games at Double-A Mississippi. Last season, he combined to hit .263 with 12 doubles, two triples and 15 RBI in 48 games between High-A Visalia and Double-A Mobile. Rodriguez was originally selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 15th round of the 2011 draft out of UCLA. He was selected by the Braves in the Rule 5 Draft on December 11, 2014.

Schlehuber, 27, began the season at Triple-A Gwinnett. In 32 games with the G-Braves, he posted a .168 batting average with four doubles and nine RBI. Schlehuber was hitting .294 against lefties compared to just .141 against right-handers. He spent the entire 2013 and 2014 season with the Mississippi club, hitting .199 and .230 respectively. The Utah native was selected by the Braves in the fourth round of the 2008 draft out of Southern Nevada CC.

The Mississippi roster has 25 active players, 1 disabled and 1 temporarily inactive.
