MOBILE, AL - The Mobile BayBears fell 2-1 to the Biloxi Suckers in a pitcher's due at MGM Park on Monday night. Both teams were held scoreless through the first five innings but with a two-run homer by Orlando Arcia in the bottom of the sixth inning the Shuckers took a lead they would not relinquish.

Mobile responded with a run in the top of the seventh inning. Socrates Brito lead off with a single. and in the next at bat Brandon Drury smacked a ball to left for a ground-rule double which prevented Brito from scoring on the play. The one run came in the next at bat with a sacrifice fly to left by Zach Borenstein to bring in Brito.

Both teams were stumped by starting pitching. BayBears starting RHP Braden Shipley allowed just the two earned runs on five hits, walking one and striking out four in seven in full innings but suffered the loss to fall to 3-5 on the season.

Shuckers RHP Brooks Hall earned the win to improve to 6-3. The righty allowed just the one earned run on three hits, walking one and striking out seven in seven full innings.

Mobile and Biloxi continue their five game series with game four scheduled for Tuesday night at MGM Park starting at 7:10 PM. The BayBears return home to open up a five game homestand against the Jackson Generals starting June 11-15.
