Asheville Tourists News Release

ROME, GA - A few days after Brendan Rodgers clubbed a pair of two-run Home Runs against the Lexington Legends, the Asheville Tourists shortstop was at it again. Rodgers hit a towering two-run Home Run in the third inning against the Rome Braves and added a pair of doubles in Asheville's 11-3 Friday night win. Rodgers finished with a season high five RBI.

David Hill continued his great start to the season by working six innings against the Braves. Hill picked up the win and is now 2-0 through his first four starts. Asheville's bullpen of Cristian Quintin and Kelvin Franco worked the final three innings to preserve the win.

Offensively, Rodgers had a lot of help. Sam Hilliard reached base three times including an RBI triple. Hamlet Marte and Jonathan Prion also recorded RBI triples. Brian Mundell finished with a pair hits as did Max George. The Tourists totaled nine extra-base hits, and 15 total for the game.

Touki Toussaint started for Rome and once again was ineffective against Asheville. In three career starts against the Tourists, Toussaint is 0-3.

Asheville and Rome have played six games this season. The first three were all decided by one run. The latter three have all been decided by more than seven runs. Game three of the current four game series will take place on Saturday night at 6:00pm.
