Tourists Belt Fifteen Hits, Braves Fall 11-3

Rome, GA - The Asheville Tourists took game two of the four game series with the Rome Braves Friday night by a final score of 11-3 before a crowd of 2,595.

Asheville led the whole game and started with one run in the first on an RBI triple by Hamlet Marte. The Tourists added two runs in the third inning on a two run home run by Brendan Rogers. In the fourth, Asheville plated four more highlighted by an RBI single by Jonathan Piron, a two run double by Rogers, and a throwing error allowing a run to score making it a 7-0 game.

Rome cut into the lead in the bottom of the fourth on Lucas Herbert's RBI groundout. After Asheville scored a run in the fifth, the Braves scored twice in the bottom half on Ray-Patrick Didder's RBI triple and a fielding error allowing the second run to cross the plate. That's as close as Rome would get as Asheville gets the victory 11-3. David Hill (2-0) picks up the win for Asheville and Rome starter Touki Toussaint (0-3) is hit with the loss. Toussaint went five innings allowing ten hits and seven earned runs.
