
Rod Branch named UHL Goaltender of the Week

FRASER, MI- The Motor City Mechanics are excited to announce that goaltender, Rod Branch has been named the Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the week for the twenty-third week of the season.
This week Branch compiled a 4-0-0 record including one shutout against the Flint Generals on Friday March 24th. During the weeks action Branch faced 138 shots while making 133 saves for a .964 save percentage (SV%) and a 1.25 goals against average (GAA).
Branch has been an iron man for the Mechanics this season as he has appeared in 64 games, setting a new Mechanics record. Last season Branch appeared in 63 games for the Mechanics in their inaugural 2004-05 season.
This season Branch has totaled a 36-25-3 record and with the shutout this week, he now has 3 shutouts. Branch is 9-1-0 in his last 10 games including a 2.10 GAA and a .931 SV%
Last season Branch won the award twice and was chosen as the goaltender of the month in the month of March and April!
