3/22: The Mechanics Get Their First Win Against The Komets by A Score of 2-1!

Vlad Serov nets both goals on the power play to propel the Mechanics to a 2-1 win over the Komets. That win is the first over the Komets this year. Previously the Mechanics have only been able to gain one point in the four games played prior to this game. Chris Gignac netted two assists while Mike Burgoyne and David Herring netted the other assists.

Rod Branch made 32 saves to record his 33rd win of the season.

- WITH THE WIN THE MECHANICS SET A NEW RECORD FOR MOST HOME WINS IN A ROW WITH 6, BREAKING THE MARK THEY SET LAST YEAR OF 5.

- 3/24: Rod Branch Records His 3rd Shutout of the Season by Making 35 Saves

Rod Branch has looked steller in net the past few games and it continued against the Generals. Branch stopped every shot thrown his way as he would record 35 saves en route to a 5-0 shutout. That shutout would be his 3rd of the season. Now to the offense; Andrei Lupandin, once again scored while Chris Bogas, Adam Edinger and Chris Gignac (2g) scored for the Mechanics. Gignac also had an assist on the Bogas goal to give him a three point night (2g, 1a).

- THE WIN CONTINUES THE STREAK OF WINS AT HOME WITH 7, AND 5 WINS IN A ROW, OVERALL!

- 3/25: Mechanics Win SIXTH IN A ROW In A Shootout With The Flags!

In Port Huron the Mechanics have fared well and tonight would be no different. Brent Gretzky scored on the power play with 4:06 left in the first period to give the Mechanics a 1-0 lead heading into the intermission. The Flags would tie the game, however, and it would stay that way for the remainder of regulation. In the shootout, Adam Edinger, Brent Gretzky and Chris Gignac all scored, while Rod Branch made three saves on four Flag attempts for the win. Branch finished the game with 35 saves earning his 35th win of the season.

- BRANCH MADE HIS 63RD APPEARANCE TYING THE MARK HE SET LAST SEASON.

- THE WIN ALSO TIES A FRANCHISE MARK SET LAST SEASON OF 37!

- 3/26: Mechanics end week with a 4-3 win over muskegon

Mechanics finish off the week against the defending Colonial Cup Champion, Muskegon Fury. And finish they did, after Muskegon scored first the Mechanics responded with a goal from, who else, Adam Edinger. That tied the game at 1-1 after one period of play. Edinger would strike again to give the Mechanics the 2-1 lead which lasted almost two full minutes before the Fury tied the game at 2-2. Peter Szabo then fired a shot from the slot which gave the Mechanics a 3-2 lead heading into the third period of play. In the third period the Fury would tie the game with under five minutes left in regulation.

The resilient Mechanics dug deep and Chris Bogas sprung Kris Vernarsky with a beautiful pass up the half wall and Vernarsky fired his shot past the Fury goaltender which would be the eventual game-winning goal!

Rod Branch made 39 saves for his 36th win of the season in his 64th appearance.
