Rockies, Brewers Split Twin Bill

After three straight days of rainouts, the Grand Junction Rockies and Helena Brewers were finally able to take the Suplizio Field. The split a doubleheader on Friday, with the Rockies winning game two 8-4, after Helena won the first game 10-5.

In game two, Chris Keck and Jensen Park hit three run homers. Keck's came with the Brewers leading 3-1 in the third inning, and Park's followed Hunter Brother's stranding the tying run at third in the top of the fifth.

Brothers earned the win with a pair of shutout innings after Trey Killian allowed four runs over the game's first four innings. Daniel Koger tossed a 1-2-3 seventh.

Park finished with two hits as did Jonathan Piron, who swiped two bases.

In game one, Parker French scattered three baserunners over five scoreless innings, leaving with a 2-0 lead, but the Rockies bullpen surrendered nine runs in the sixth inning. Helena tacked on another in the seventh.

Cole Anderson had two hits, including his second home run of the season in the fifth. Tyler Nevin and Michael Benjamin added a pair of hits.

With the doubleheader split, the Rockies are now 11-10 on the season, as they get ready to host the Billings Mustangs for three games starting Saturday night at Suplizio Field.
