GREAT FALLS - The Ogden Raptors (11-12) held the Great Falls Voyagers (12-8) to only one run over the final five innings, but could not overcome the six runs allowed in the first three frames as the Voyagers took game one of a four-game series 7-2 on Friday night.

After three consecutive five-inning outings, Jairo Pacheco was chased from the ballgame after only 2 2/3 innings. Jake Jarvis tripled in the first inning to bring home Landon Lassiter and open up the scoring for the Voyagers. Dante Flores hit and RBI double and later scored in a three-run third inning that gave Great Falls a 6-0 lead.

Victor Velasquez would triple in the fifth inning and score on Frank Califano's RBI single to push the lead to 7-0. Ogden got two runs back in the sixth inning capped by Garrett Kennedy's RBI triple to score Nick Sell. Kennedy finished the night 3-for-4 with a triple and two doubles, but was left stranded at third base all three times.

The Raptors bullpen turned in a solid performance for the fourth straight night. Rob McDonnell, Isaac Anderson, and Clint Freeman combined to allow a single run in 5 1/3 innings while striking out 11 batters. McDonnell struck out a season-high six, including a string of four straight batters. In the last four games, the bullpen has thrown 22 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs with 31 strikeouts.

Game two of the series is Saturday night at 7pm MT. Tommy Bergjans (Ogden) faces Zack Erwin (Great Falls).
