GF TAKES SERIES OPENER

For the second straight night, the Voyagers jumped out to an early lead, scoring six in the first three innings on their way to a 7-2 win over Ogden. Jake Jarvis got things started for Great Falls, tripling in a run, then scoring on a groundout one batter later. In the second, the Voyagers added another on a Johan Cruz sacrifice fly, before chasing Raptors starter Jairo Pacheco in the third. In that frame, Dante Flores and Landon Lassiter collected RBI doubles, and Frank Califano collected the first of his two run-scoring hits. The early offense was plenty for righty Brannon Easterling, who earned his second win and third quality start of 2015.

CRUZIN' NO MORE

Infielder Johan Cruz went0-4 in last night's win, snapping his hitting streak at 10, the longest by a Great Falls hitter this year. During his ten-game run, the 19-year old went 18-41 (.439), raising his season average to .354, the second-highest on the Voyagers. Cruz also collected six multi-hit efforts during the streak, including a career-high four on Tuesday night against Idaho Falls.

EASTERLING KEEPS ROLLING

Right-hander Brannon Easterling kept up his strong start to 2015 last night, allowing just two runs across six innings to earn his third quality start of the year. The College Station Tex., native was cruising through five, having kept Ogden off the board and holding them to just two hits before giving up the two runs on four hits in his final inning of the night. Great Falls starters have combined for eight quality starts on the year, with Easterling leading the way with three through his four starts. Through four outings, the righty has worked 24.0 innings, the third most in the Pioneer League, and owns the fourth-lowest ERA among qualified starters, at 2.63.

ROSTER MOVE

The Voyagers made just their second roster move of the season Saturday, as they received lefty Ryan Riga from the AZL White Sox. Drafted in the 13th round of this year's draft out of Ohio State, Riga has made four appearances in his young minor league career, posting a 2-0 record with a 1.80 ERA and an opponent's batting average of .161 in 10.0 innings of work in Arizona.
