Kelowna Rockets News Release

The Kelowna Rockets three-game win streak was snapped on Saturday by the Wenatchee Wild at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee, WA.

After trading goals in the opening half of the first period, the Wild scored five answered goals to take the lead.

GAME SUMMARY

With a Wild player in the penalty box, Graham Sward stretched a pass up the ice to break Kenta Isogai (18) out on a two-on-one, giving Wenatchee the lead 4:37 into the game. Trae Johnson and Karter Prosofsky dropped the gloves for a fight. Daniel Hauser stopped Tij Iginla's initial shot, but a trailing Andrew Cristall (22) put the rebound in to tie the game at 10:04. Just under three minutes later Miles Cooper (11) restored Wenatchee's lead with a power play tally.

Isogai (19) struck again 1:50 into the second period to give Wenatchee a two-goal lead. With 5.8 seconds left in the period Cristall appeared to net his second of the game and pull the Rockets within one, but it was waived off after Luke Schelter made contact with Hauser.

Just as Johnson's penalty for charging came to an end, Hayden Moore (7) padded the Wild lead by three with 14:33 to play in the third period. Evan Friesen (13) quickly added another goal for Wenatchee before Jari Kykkanen replaced Jake Pilon in net for the Rockets.Isogai (20) completed the hat trick just before the midway point of the period. Luke Schelter then set up Dylan Wightman (8) at the backdoor with a power play goal before Tij Iginla (27) another past Hauser to cut the Wild's lead in half.
