Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats have traded 2004-born defenceman Jaren Brinson to the Victoria Royals in exchange for a sixth round pick in 2025 and a ninth round pick in 2027.

"With our recent moves, we were carrying nine defencemen and needed to address our numbers," Regina Pats VP, Hockey Operations and GM Alan Millar said. "Jaren has played well for us, and I'm pleased he has an opportunity with a good team in Victoria. We thank Jaren for his time with our hockey club and wish him the best."

Brinson, 19, has tallied five points (1G-4A) in 33 games this season split between the Pats and the Spokane Chiefs. The Airdrie, Alta. product was originally acquired from Spokane on October 12, 2023, along with a third round pick in 2024 and a second round pick in 2025 in exchange for Layton Feist. The 6-foot-3, 185 lb. left shot defenceman has played in 173 career games in the WHL (6G-18A-34PTS) across four seasons split between the Prince George Cougars, Winnipeg ICE, Chiefs and Pats. Brinson was previously drafted by the Cougars in the second round (36th overall) of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft.

The Pats organization would like to wish Jaren all the best with his new team, and thank him for his time and contributions to both the community and club.
