Bridgewater, NJ - The Camden Riversharks defeated the Somerset Patriots 4-2 in the second game of the double header on Saturday night at TD Bank Ballpark.

The Riversharks broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth inning on a solo home run by center fielder Wayne Lydon (2).

The Patriots took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Third baseman Jeff Nettles singled, second baseman Matt Hagen singled, and catcher Travis Anderson was hit by a pitch to load the bases. First baseman Teuris Olivares followed with a sacrifice fly to score Nettles and advance Hagen to third. Right fielder Joe Burke then drove home Hagen on a successful squeeze bunt for the 2-1 advantage.

Camden tied up the game with a run in the top of the sixth inning. Lydon singled, stole second, right fielder Chris Walker singled, and shortstop Bryant Nelson hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Lydon to make the score 2-2.

The Riversharks took the lead with two runs in the top of the seventh inning after catcher John Purdom walked and scored on a two run homerun by Lydon (3) for the 4-2 advantage.

Riversharks starter Josh Brey (6-7) got the win after allowing two earned runs on five hits in six innings pitched. Patriots reliever Kip Bouknight (4-8) suffered the loss after allowing two earned runs on two hits in an inning pitched. Riversharks closer Felix Rodriguez picked up his seventh save of the year after tossing a scoreless seventh inning.

The 2009 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home with a 5:05 pm game against the Camden Riversharks on Sunday evening. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2009 Patriots Team Poster courtesy of American Honda. The game features Veterans of America Day.
