Barnstormers add ex-big leaguer to bullpen

Lancaster Stormers News Release
LANCASTER, Pa. - The Lancaster Barnstormers have added a former major league pitcher to their bullpen. Kane Davis, who played in the big leagues for parts of five seasons, has signed with the team and will be activated in time for tonight's game against the York Revolution.
Davis, 34, was a 13th-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1993. The West Virginia native broke into the majors with the Cleveland Indians seven years later. He most recently pitched in the majors with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2007. The 6-3, 194-pound righthander has a lifetime 4-10 record and 5.53 ERA at that level.
"I like the experience he brings to the table," Barnstormers manager Tom Herr said. "He has played at high levels with success. When I saw him throw on the side the other day, he was amazingly sharp considering he was only a couple of months post-surgery. His experience should translate into success in this league."
Davis, who has played in the Atlantic League with the Somerset Patriots in 2006 and the Camden Riversharks in 2003-04, has not pitched this season because of shoulder surgery. He is 60-63 with a 4.30 ERA in 336 minor-league appearances. He last pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays at Triple-A Syracuse in 2008.
