Peoria Rivermen News Release
Peoria, Ill. (February 2, 2005) â Peoria Rivermen left wing Randy Rowe and his game-tying goal early in the second period on Saturday against the archrival Toledo Storm were featured on ESPN's Top Ten on Tuesday, February 1 during the 10 p.m. CDT edition of SportsCenter.
On the goal, Rowe tied the game 1-1 just 1:17 into the second period with an amazing individual effort. Rowe pushed his way down the left-wing boards with Toledo defenseman P.J. Martin draped all over him, motoring his way in behind the net with one hand on his stick and one hand holding off Martin. Rowe then circled out to the slot and pushed off Martin enough to make room to lift the puck, with one hand on his stick, into the upper right corner past Toledo rookie goaltender Logan Koopmans. It was Rowe's 10th goal of the season.
The clip replayed Wednesday morning 50 minutes past the hour during SportsCenter, which airs until 11:00 a.m. CDT.
