Las Vegas Averages 7,001 Over Three-Game Span

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers posted a 2-1-0 record for the past week. Friday night the Wranglers were defeated 4-1 in Fresno. Saturday, the Wranglers defeated the Victoria Salmon Kings 2-1 in a shootout. The game was played in front of a sell out crowd of 7,773 at the Orleans Arena. Monday night, Las Vegas won 4-1 over Victoria at the Orleans.

The Wranglers will not play until next Tuesday when they host the Long Beach Ice Dogs at the Orleans Arena at 7:05 pm. Las Vegas will continue their seven-game home stand the following weekend with a two-game series against Idaho.

Fresno, CA – The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Fresno Falcons 4-1 at the Save Mart Center on Friday night. Fresno goalie Jamie Hodson made 36 saves for his 13th win of the season. Falcons' forwards Shaun Sutter scored twice and added an assist as Fresno moved to 10-1-1 in January. Las Vegas goalie Sebastien Centomo made 25 saves as the Wranglers fell below the .500 mark for the third time in team history.

Victoria 1 at Las Vegas 2 SO

Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Victoria Salmon Kings 2-1 in a shootout in front of a record sold out crowd of 7,773 at the Orleans Arena on Saturday night. Goalie Marc Magliarditi made 29 saves in regulation and stopped all five shooters for the victory. Defenseman Ryan Gaucher scored the lone Las Vegas goal and forward Dustin Johner added the game-winning goal in the shootout. The Las Vegas win extended the Salmon Kings winless streak to a new ECHL record of 17 games without a win (0-15-2). Victoria goalie Jason Stone took the loss, despite making 42 saves.

Monday, January 31st

Victoria 1 at Las Vegas 4

Las Vegas, NV – The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Victoria Salmon Kings 4-1 in front of a crowd of 5,920 at the Orleans Arena on Monday night. Wranglers' goaltender Sebastien Centomo stopped 36 shots in the win. The line of Darren Lynch, Shawn Limpright, and Dustin Johner totaled eight points in the victory for Las Vegas. Limpright and Johner each racked up three assists in the win. The three-goal victory was the first multi-goal win for Las Vegas since January 7th, a 3-0 win over Peoria.

Wranglers Attendance Soars

The Las Vegas Wranglers fans have broken the all-time team attendance record twice in the last three weeks. Saturday night's crowd of 7,773 set a new all-time mark for attendance and marked the first sellout in team history. The 7,773 fans who passed through the gates of the Orleans Arena shattered the previous mark of 7,310 set on Saturday, January 8th against the Peoria Rivermen. The Wranglers have drawn over 7,000 fans five times in the team's two-year existence. Opening Night, October 21st, 2003 against the Bakersfield Condors, the Wranglers drew 7,208. 7,035 watched the Wranglers defeat the San Diego Gulls 2-1 in overtime on February 27th, 2004. Saturday, March 20th, the Wranglers set an inaugural season high of 7,242, in a 4-3 overtime win over the Idaho Steelheads. 5,920 saw the Wranglers win 4-1 over Victoria on Monday night, bringing the total to 21,003 for the team's last three home games. Over the last three weeks, Las Vegas has moved from ninth in the league in attendance (4,607) to sixth overall in the ECHL at 4,948.

This Week's Opponents

Las Vegas is in the middle of a seven-day layoff, the second longest stretch of the season without a game. The Wranglers went eight days at the end of October without a game. The Wranglers return to face the Long Beach Ice Dogs on Tuesday. The Dogs are currently in first place in the West Division, 16 points ahead of Las Vegas. Former Wrangler Chris Kenady leads Long Beach in goal scoring with 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points in 44 games. Center Evan Cheverie has 17 goals and 27 assists for 44 points in 44 games.
