
Rivermen Tough Man Kaczowka Reassigned from Worcester

Peoria, Ill. (February 2, 2005) â Rivermen Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced today that left wing David Kaczowka has been reassigned from the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Worcester IceCats.
Kaczowka â a 6-foot-2, 230-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan â posted 19 penalty minutes (PIM) in two games for Worcester last weekend in a 5-2 road win over Lowell on Saturday, January 29 and a 4-0 home loss to Portland on Sunday, January 30. Last Friday, after just being reassigned from Worcester, he registered an assist and a +1 plus/minus in Peoria's 3-0 shutout of the San Diego Gulls on January 28. The 23-year-old tough man has amassed a total of 38 PIM in six games with the IceCats.
With the Rivermen this season, Kaczowka has 119 PIM in 16 games and has registered PIM in every game but three. He will join the club for its road game tonight against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Game time is 6:00 p.m. CST at Historic Boardwalk Hall.

On Friday, February 11, the Rivermen host the Dayton Bombers at 7:30 p.m. at Carver Arena. It's the Third Annual Potter & Anderson Jewelers "Wedding on Ice." Five Peoria-area couples will get married on Carver Arena ice. The team will wear special Valentine's Day-themed jerseys to be auctioned immediately following the game with the proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois â Peoria Office. On Sunday, February 13, Peoria hosts the rival Johnstown Chiefs for the first time this season. Game time is 3:00 p.m. at Carver Arena. It is the third of four Peoria Journal Star/Insight Media Family Days. Kids 12 & Under receive a $2 Upper Bowl admission, and there are $2.50 Kids Meals. Scooby Doo will appear courtesy of the Cartoon Network.
