Peoria Rivermen News Release
The Peoria Rivermen take a seven-game road winning streak into Hamilton, Ontario tonight to battle the Bulldogs at 6:30 pm CST.
Tonight marks the second and final meeting of the year between the two teams, with Peoria winning the previous engagement back in Illinois by a 5-0 score. Chris Beckford-Tseu stopped 25 shots for his first shutout of the season in that game, while Martin Kariya added three assists and Charles Linglet scored twice in the victory. Mike Glumac's shorthanded goal just 6:01 into the contest held up as the game winner.
"I don't think we're doing anything different right now than we were before," said Micki DuPont. "It took us a little time to build our chemistry, and now that we have the results are coming in the form of goals and wins."
January has been a hot month for Peoria, as the team has gone 6-0-1-0 since the calendar turned to 2008. So far on a season-long seven game road swing, the club has started 3-0 with a pair of wins in Grand Rapids and one overtime triumph in Rochester. Those three wins came in just under three nights for the team.
After tonight's game in Hamilton, the Rivermen will travel tomorrow to Winnipeg for a pair of contests Thursday and Friday before heading to Milwaukee to battle the Admirals at 1 pm.
Peoria returns home on a Nesquik 2-for-Tuesday against the San Antonio Rampage at 7 pm.
