Worcester Sharks News Release
WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr has announced that the organization has teamed up with Baystate Financial Services for a Coat Drive when the Sharks host the Portland Pirates on Friday, January 18 at 7:05p.m. at the DCU Center.
All fans that donate a new or lightly used coat will receive a FREE ticket voucher to a future Sharks game, compliments of Baystate Financial Services. The voucher can be used for any regular season game during the remainder of the 2007-08 season. The Shark's wives and girlfriends will collect the coats in the DCU Center lobby starting at 6 p.m. All coats collected will be donated to the Worcester Department of Social Services.
"The Worcester Sharks are pleased to team up with Baystate Financial Services again for such a worthwhile cause," said Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr. "It is important to help those who are less fortunate, especially during this time of year with all of the wintry weather we have been experiencing."
The Sharks wrap up their three-game road trip on Wednesday evening in Hartford before returning to the DCU Center for an action-packed weekend on Friday and vs. Providence on Saturday. Along with Friday's coat drive, many other promotions highlight the weekend. Lukas Kaspar collector's cards will be given away to the first 3,000 fans on Friday. The Sharks will feature their black alternate jerseys for another Black Friday, and free massages will be available on the concourse, courtesy of the Salter School of Massage Therapy.
On Saturday, the Sharks host the Bruins and the first 3,000 fans will receive a Joe Thornton bobblehead doll compliments of News Talk 580 WTAG. New England Revolution midfielder Shalarie Joseph and Mascot Slyde will also attend to help celebrate "Massachusetts Youth Soccer Night." Sharks players will sign autographs during the second intermission as part of Saturday Night Signings. Opening face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. After the game, visit Boston Billiard Club as Worcester Sharks players will serve as celebrity bartenders.
All games can be heard live on 580 WTAG, as well as online through B2 Networks, by following the link on the Sharks website at www.sharksahl.com.
