
RiverKings Outgun Oilers for 3rd Straight Win

(Tulsa, OK) - Matt Summers' two goals and Jeff Alcombrack's four points gave the Mississippi RiverKings a 6-4 win over the Tulsa Oilers to open an eight-game road trip on Friday, November 21st at the BOK Center in Tulsa.
Mississippi opened the scoring with Louis Dumont's league-leading fourth shorthanded goal of the season, assisted by Garrett Larson and Stephen Margeson at 6:59 of the first period.
Tulsa took a 2-1 lead in the first period on goals from Jeff Christian and Michel Beausoleil, but the RiverKings answered with a power play goal from Matt Summers, assisted by Jeff Nelson and Bobby Chaumont at 13:30 for a 2-2 tie.
The Oilers took the lead going into the first intermission with an unassisted goal from Jake Riddle at 17:52 for a 3-2 first period advantage.
The offensive production continued in the second period, as the RiverKings scored three times to the Oilers' one. Jeff Alcombrack opened the scoring with his fourth goal and third power play tally of the year at the 2:54 mark for a 3-3 tie.
Tulsa answered again with Kai Magnussen scoring an even-strength goal for a 4-3 Oilers' lead, but the RiverKings scored the next two goals for a 5-4 advantage at the second intermission.
Andrew Lackner scored his first goal of the season just 28 seconds after Magnussen's goal for a 4-4 tie at 7:35 of the second period. Alcombrack assisted on Lackner's tally.
The RiverKings then took a 5-4 lead into the second intermission, when Bobby Chaumont scored on the power play at 8:32, assisted by Nelson and Alcombrack. It was Chaumont's team-leading ninth goal of the year and his fifth power play score.
Mississippi got an insurance goal from Summers, his second goal of the night, at 1:11 of the third period for the final 6-4 result.
The RiverKings scored three times on the power play in nine chances, while Tulsa was scoreless in five opportunities. Mississippi outshot the Oilers by a 31-25 margin.
Kevin Beech earned the win in net for the RiverKings with a 21-save performance, raising his season mark to 8-5-0.
