
Bees Defeat Jackalopes 5-4 in OT

Odessa, Texas --- Travis Banga scored twice, including the power play game-winner in overtime, as the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees defeated the Odessa Jackalopes 5-4 at the Ector County Coliseum Friday night.
RGV led 4-1 heading into the third period on goals by Daryl Moore, Trevor Weisgerber, Jesse Perrin and Banga.
Odessa tied it with three unanswered goals in third third, picking up tallies 20 seconds into the period (Mike Ramsey), 2:34 (Kory Karlander) and 14:59 (Josh Chase).
Rob Voltera had three assists for the Bees, while Karlander had two goals and a helper for Odessa. The Jack scored a pair of shorthanded goals, while allowing the Bees two power play goals.
Christian Boucher made 43 saves in goal for the Bees. Juha Toivonen suffered the loss with 23 saves.
The Bees improve to 7-2-2 (16 pts) with the win and sit two points behind Southeast Division leader Laredo.
Both the Bees and Jackalopes head to the Valley for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff on Saturday night at the Dodge Arena. The first 1000 adults get Killer Bees jerseys.
