Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (November 21)-The Brahmas improved their winning streak to four games Friday night in Wichita as they defeated the Thunder 4-2. Texas will look to increase the streak to five with a home game tomorrow night against the Tulsa Oilers at the NYTEX Sports Centre at 7:05 PM.

It was a goal from Brahmas rookie forward Pete Rouleau at the 13:21 mark that put Texas up 1-0 in the first. Matt Hanson and goaltender Brett Jaeger were credited with the assists.

The Brahmas welcomed back forward Jason Deitsch tonight as he returned to Texas' lineup following a call up by the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League on October 18. Despite only a week of practice with his Brahmas teammates, Deitsch didn't miss a beat as he connected with Grant Jacobsen and Craig Minard for his first goal as a Brahma. The goal came on the powerplay.

Wichita was able to score a goal on Jaeger in the second with ten minutes remaining in the period, but the Brahmas were not willing to give up their two goal lead as Scott Sheppard returned the favor scoring on Thunder goalie Krister Toews. Deitsch assisted on the goal to give Texas the 3-1 lead.

Texas continued to play strong in the final period as Deitsch picked up his third point of the night setting up Sheppard for his second goal in the game. Defenseman Mike Vellinga was also credited with the assist. Texas was 1 for 2 on the powerplay and Jaeger stopped 33 of 35 shots.

The 4-2 victory now ranks Brahmas Head Coach Dan Wildfong second in franchise history in wins with 48.
