Richmond RiverDogs News Release

October 28, 2005 vs. Roanoke Valley.

A pair of goals 0:33 apart by Mike Kenny and Steve Crusco in the third period was the difference in Roanoke Valley's 2-1 win over the RiverDogs and handing the Dog's their fourth straight loss. Kris Waltz scored the team's only goal in the first period. Doug Groenestege was phenominal between the pipes stopping 42 of 44 Viper shots. Attendance: 3, 012

October 29, 2005 vs Danbury.

A controversial goal late in the second period ended up being the game-winner as the Danbury Trashers handed the RiverDogs their fifth straight loss by the score of 5-2. Richmond opened up the scoring with a Jason Cassells goal at 4:39 of the first period. Danbury tied it early in the second period before Mike Wolf's goal at 4:20 put Richmond ahead. Former RiverDog Francis Belanger tied the game at 2-2 at 8:09. With less than three minutes left in the period, Dave Hymovitz fed a pass to Alex Goupil who shot a one timer and hit the crossbar. The puck traveled down and hit the goal line. Play continued for nearly one minute before a Danbury icing call stopped play. The referee consulted first the linesmen, then the goal judge. After discussion, he ruled that the puck did cross the line, giving the Trashers their first lead of the game. Danbury added a pair of goals in the third period to seal the win. Attendance: 3,626.
