Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday that the Charleston RiverDogs have been selected as one of the winners of the 1773 Chamber Award.
Along with 12 other category winners, the RiverDogs are being recognized for their achievements in the Hospital/Tourism category.
Each year the Chamber looks to recognize businesses and industries in the area that stand out and contribute to the region's economy while reflecting the mission and principles of the Chamber itself in the following categories: Communications, Construction/Real Estate, Educational Services, Finance/Insurance, Healthcare, Hospital/Tourism, Manufacturing/Processing, Professional, Public/Non-profit, Retail/Wholesale, Scientific/Technical Services and Transportation/Warehousing. Last year's Hospital/Tourism recipient was Holiday Inn Express.
"With our new "Be Your Own Fan" campaign, building a strong relationship with the community is something we're always working towards here at the ballpark and to be recognized for that effort is such an honor," said RiverDogs general manager Dave Echols. "This award wouldn't be possible without the tremendous hard work of our staff and of course, all of our great fans."
The RiverDogs and the 12 other recipients of the award were all honored at the Chamber's Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 3.
The 1773 Award, named for the year of the Chamber's establishment, is given annually to organizations in the Charleston region that best exemplify the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce's core values of leadership, relevance, integrity, diversity and innovation.
All category winners are finalists to receive the Chamber's top honor, the 1773 Chamber Award of the Year. The award recipient is set to be announced at the Chamber's Annual Gala on July 9.
