Sacramento River Cats News Release
WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats begin the 2012 season on Friday, April 13, when they play host to the Reno Aces (Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks) at 7:05 p.m. at Raley Field. With the start of the new season only a day away, the River Cats organization reveals all the new and exciting additions fans will experience this spring and summer at Raley Field.
Access to Raley Field Improved - Access to and from Raley Field has improved dramatically with the opening of Fifth Street in West Sacramento's Bridge District. New roads and sidewalks have been completed and there is more parking available than ever before.
Raley Field Beer Garden - A new craft beer garden is open under the tent in left field. A wide selection of craft beer from the region's best breweries will be featured in the new area. Bar and bench seating are available. In addition, fans can enjoy the Best Sliders in Baseball, featuring cheeseburger, grilled chicken and pulled pork sliders. Bag-O bean bag games will also be set up to provide further entertainment for fans.
Jack Daniel's Solon Club - The Jack Daniel's Solon Club will have a new look and feel this season. Already one of fans' favorite areas of the park, the Jack Daniel's Solon Club (available to suite level and lower bowl level guests) will offer the same relaxed atmosphere this season, but with the additions of all-new décor and Jack Daniel's drink specials.
Round Table Ticket Plaza - Raley Field's Round Table Ticket Office has a new entryway, which will increase ease of access for fans heading to both the ticket office and the home plate entrance. Plus, Round Table Pizza is the official pizza of Raley Field offering personal-size pizzas at concession stands and full-size pizzas in the hospitality suites.
New Hot Dog Vendor - Fans will get to taste an all-new hot dog at Raley Field this season, as Wienerschnitzel has joined the team as the official hot dog of Raley Field. Dinger Dogs will return, as will dollar hot dogs every Friday night as part of Toyota Family Value Fridays. All hot dogs served at Raley Field will be 100% beef.
Interactive Seat Map - Fans looking to purchase tickets online this season will have the opportunity to choose their own seats, thanks to ticketmaster.com's interactive seat map feature. This feature lets the fan decide exactly where to sit, and comes with the same reduced convenience fees as last season.
Season Ticket Cards - River Cats season ticket holders have been issued season ticket cards for 2012. The season ticket cards provide for more flexibility and ease of use. The cards make it more convenient for season ticket holders to forward, exchange or upgrade their tickets online, and eliminate the burden of paper tickets.
Credit Card Machines - To help improve the speed of service and make it more convenient for fans, credit card machines are now available at all kiosks and points of purchase around the ballpark.
Social Media Seats - At each of the River Cats' 72 home games this season, a pair of seats behind home plate will be reserved for non-traditional media members. Bloggers, social media specialists and other non-traditional media members can apply for a pair of social media credentials by emailing Mark Ling at mling@rivercats.com.
Four Block Parties - Raley Field will play host to four themed pregame block parties on Saturday nights during the 2012 season, beginning at 4:00 on Ballpark Drive in front of the home plate entrance. The block parties are set for: May 26 (Showdown Hoedown), June 16 (Fin Fest-Tribute to Jimmy Buffett), July 14 (Hot Rods and Cool Cats) and August 25 (Oktoberfest).
New Team - While fans will notice some familiar faces, the 2012 roster is stocked with young talent, including A's top prospect Jarrod Parker and up-and-comer Grant Green. With one game left on the squad's season-opening road trip, the Cats are already sitting in first place with a 6-1 record.
New Uniforms - Fans will notice crisp new white uniforms on the Cats this season. In addition, the squad will don their red hats at all 2012 Sunday home games.
RC Willey Value Corner - Starting at 10 a.m. on game days, fans can purchase $10 tickets in the RC Willey Value Corner. Tickets to this popular section are only available at the Round Table Ticket Office on game days, and are sold on a first come, first served basis.
Preferred Parking Courtesy of Roseville Automall - All season long, fans can log on to rosevilleautomall.com and download a voucher for preferred parking at Raley Field. The voucher will give fans the opportunity to park in the Green Lot-the closest lot to the home plate entrance-as well as a 15% off coupon to the On Deck Shop, the official team store of the River Cats.
New Inflatable in Kids Corner - The popular Coca-Cola Kids' Corner will have a new inflatable this season. L'il Farm is toddler friendly for River Cats l'il fans. The Kids' Corner-located near the right field gate-is a family-friendly part of the ballpark where kids can have fun and unwind while taking in a ballgame.
New Dugout Club Seats - The best view in the ballpark-right behind home plate in the Dugout Club-now comes with the best seats in the house as well. Dugout Club members will enjoy more comfortable and spacious seats this season. Dugout Club fans also receive complimentary refreshments provided by Coca-Cola.
Between Inning Entertainment - Fans should be on the lookout for several new in-game promotions, including some "heads" that most Californians will surely recognize.
