Tacoma Rainiers News Release

TACOMA, Wash. -- The Rainiers offense exploded for 22 hits in a 15-5 win over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Cheney Stadium on Wednesday night.

Every member of Tacoma's lineup collected a hit on Tuesday, and all but one turned in multi-hit efforts in the contest. Adam Moore, Trayvon Robinson, Chih-Hsien Chiang and Luis Jimenez all collected three hits, with Johan Limonta and Guillermo Quiroz both homering en route to racking up a season-high four RBI each.

The hit total was the most for Tacoma since equaling that haul at Tucson on August 6 of last season.

Already holding a 3-2 lead, the Rainiers broke the game open with a six-hit, five-run inning in the third. Limonta, Triunfel and Scott Savastano each drove in runs with singles, and Sky Sox starter Guillermo Moscoso cleared the way for two more with a pair of wild pitches.

The outfielder Limonta expanded Tacoma's lead to nine runs with a three-run home run in the fourth inning. In the fifth, Adam Moore's single added another run and the catcher Quiroz tallied three more with a bases-clearing double two batters later.

Rainiers starter Jeff Marquez (1-0) collected the win after holding the Sky Sox to two runs on nine hits over a 5.0-inning start. The right-hander Moscoso was dealt the loss in a start for Colorado Springs after surrendering eight runs, seven earned, on 12 hits over just 2.1 innings.

The Rainiers (4-3) look to capture a series win in the club's finale with Colorado Springs (3-4) at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, April 12. Left-hander Mauricio Robles (0-0, 2.25) is slated to start for the Rainiers in the contest against Sky Sox right-hander Carlos Torres (0-0, 4.50).
