Sacramento River Cats News Release

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento River Cats announced today that they will begin their Sutter Health Summer Caravan through the Sacramento region on Tuesday at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento. The Caravan will include a total of six stops at different Sutter Health facilities in the months of May, June and July.

River Cats manager Tony DeFrancesco, catcher Mike Rose and outfielders Nick Swisher and Steve Stanley will join Dinger (mascot) at the Sutter Health Summer Caravan stop on Tuesday. They will sign autographs and visit hospitalized patients at Sutter Memorial Hospital from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

"The Sutter Health Summer Caravan is a great way for our players to meet their fans and put smiles on the faces of hospital patients," River Cats President & Chief Operating Officer Alan Ledford said. "During each of the last three years, we conducted a similar Caravan with Sutter Health during the winter months. This year, we decided to hold the Caravan during the summer so our players can see more people and visit more hospitals over a three-month span."

During the six stops on this year's Sutter Health Summer Caravan, the River Cats and Sutter will devote a portion of the time to signing autographs, sharing health information and reinforcing the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
