This Date in Blades History: March 16, 2011...The Blades won their 54th game of the 2010-11 regular-season, on the way to a franchise-record 56 victories, when they won Game 70 of the season and home game #35 by a 3-2 score over the Moose Jaw Warriors in a shootout. Matej Stransky and Darian Dziurzynski tallied in regulation time while Marek Viedensky and Brayden Schenn scored in the shootout in front of 8,630 fans at Credit Union Centre. Saskatoon out-shot Moose Jaw 44-35 in a game in which the goaltenders...Thomas Heemskerk for the Warriors and Steven Stanford for the Blades...were the first two stars.
