June 5, 2012 - Frontier League (FL)
London Rippers News Release

LONDON, ONTARIO - The Rippers started their six game home stand the way they ended their six game road trip.

London (6-10) exploded for five runs in the 5th inning, highlighted by a Joash Brodin bases loaded double, on their way to a 9-0 win over the Normal CornBelters.

The win is London's third in a row, after taking two of three in Rockford.

The game was scoreless until London put one on the board in the 4th on an RBI double by Stephen Cardullo.

In the five run 5th, London only needed two hits. They walked four times and Clifton Thomas was hit by a pitch.

Rippers'catcher, Zach Larson, went 2-for-4 for the game, and finished with 3 RBIs.

Jim Vahalik and Clifton Thomas both drove in runs to finish off a three run 7th inning.

On the night the Rippers honoured former London Werewolves' pitcher Brett Gray's 25 strikeout performance, London starter Jamie Richmond (2-1) did his best Gray impression.

Richmond struck out 6 through 7 innings of work and did not allow a run on 5 hits.

London and Normal will play the middle game of their 3-game series tomorrow night at 6:30pm at Labatt Park.

Eric Katzman (0-2 3.38) looks for his first win of the season for the Rippers, countered by Justin Albert (0-2 8.64).
