London Rippers News Release

EVANSVILLE, INDIANA - A 2-RBI single by Matt Wright in the 5th boosted London (12- 15) to a series victory over the Evansville Otters (9-18), taking the rubber match 3-2.

The Evansville Otters broke the scoreless game in the bottom of the 1st , with RBI doubles from Luis Parache and Nick Schwaner, grabbing a 2-0 advantage.

London's first run came courtesy of an error on Otters' shortshop, Luis Parache. He booted a ground ball by Joash Brodin, which allowed Aaron Glaum to score. A walk to Jim Vahalik and bunt single by Aaron Glaum set up the 2-RBI single by Wright, giving London their first lead of the game in the 5th , 3-2.

Yohan Gonzalez (3-1) was solid again for London, completing six innings of work and allowing only two runs on four hits, striking out five.

Chris Kaminski pitched a perfect 7th inning in relief and pitched out of a one out jam a scary moment in the 8th inning, when Matt Wright tracked a ball in left field and crashed through the advertisements along the fence. A gate was left open.

Wright was removed from the game. He is considered day-to-day. The play was ruled a double and Kaminski got out of the inning unharmed.

David Francis struck out two on his way to earning his 4th save of the season.

The Rippers now prepare for a 6-game homestand, starting tomorrow at 6:30pm against the Washington Wild Things.

In tribute to Father's Day, if you bring your Dad to the game- he gets in free.
