
'Riders snag a win to end skid

The RoughRiders put an end to an eighth-game losing with a 9-3 win over Midland on Tuesday night.
Frisco scored four runs in the bottom of the third to take a 5-2 lead over the RockHounds. Trailing 2-1, first baseman Emerson Frostad connected on a two-RBI double to give the 'Riders a 3-2 lead with two outs. Designated hitter Johnny Whittleman followed with a two-RBI double of his own to cap the inning. Frostad, Lemon, and Whittleman all finished the game with two hits. Center fielder James Tomlin went 3-4 and scored a run.
Right fielder Joey Butler put the game out of reach with a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving Frisco a 9-2 advantage on the scoreboard. Butler went 2-3 with two runs, a home run, and four RBI.
Chris Mobley (1-0, 15.75) recorded his first career win for Frisco, relieving starter Elizardo Ramirez in the fifth inning. Mobley allowed no runs on two hits over 1.2 innings, walking one while striking out two.
After putting a halt to its eight-game losing skid, Frisco (58-49) will go for its second straight win on Wednesday night. LHP Richard Bleier (6-7, 4.76) will be on the mound for the 'Riders, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 PM.
