Indianapolis Indians News Release

ROCHESTER, NY -- Lafayette, Ind. native Clayton Richard continued the trend of strong pitching for the Indianapolis Indians on Monday night, and the Tribe rolled to a 6-3 victory over the Rochester Red Wings. The triumph marked the Indians' fourth win in a row, and their record has soared to 36-23, the top mark in the International League.

Keon Broxton led the offense with four hits and two runs batted in. His two-run single with the bases loaded in the second gave the Tribe a 3-0 advantage, and he also scored runs in the first and seventh frames. Richard (3-1) lowered his earned run average with the Indians to 1.69.

Brent Morel put the Indians (36-23) in front in the top of the first inning with a single that plated Broxton. Morel and Pedro Florimon joined Broxton as Tribe batters who celebrated multi-hit nights.

During the Tribe's current four-game winning streak, the starting pitcher has thrown seven innings, and has not allowed more than two earned runs in. Casey Sadler started this current stretch on Friday night.

Rochester (31-25) entered as the top team in the International League's North Division, but Indianapolis now owns a 3-1 advantage in their season series with the Red Wings.
