Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen returned to the Scotiabank Saddledome after a six day break to take on the Regina Pats on Sunday afternoon. Calgary came out victorious in an exhilarating 5-4 overtime win.

Steel Quiring and Oliver Tulk found the back of the net for Calgary's first two goals of the game in the second half of the first period. Dax Williams secured an assist on Tulk's goal, recording his first WHL point in his league debut. Calgary held on to the two goal lead through 40 minutes of play.

Connor Bedard put Regina on the board 2:57 into the third period in Connor Bedard fashion, but Calgary answered back only seconds later with one from Blake Allan to regain the two goal lead. Ryker Evans netted Regina's second goal at 11:16 into the third to bring them back within one. Two back to back goals from Bedard and Evans, both scoring their second goals of the game, gave Regina their first lead. With Brayden Peters on the bench, Grayden Sipemann tied the game with just 12 seconds left with a bomb from the point to push overtime.

Only 30 seconds into extra time, Sean Tschigerl beat Regina net minder Matthew Kieper on a bank pass from Riley Fiddler-Schultz to give Calgary the 5-4 overtime win.

Brayden Peters was dominant making 46 saves, while Blake Allan earned second star of the game recording a goal and two assists.

Calgary will play their next four games on the road before starting a four-game homestand. The road trip begins on Tuesday, Feb. 8 in Prince Albert and will also take the Hitmen to Saskatoon (Feb. 9), Regina (Feb. 11) and Moose Jaw (Feb. 12) before the homestand opens on Wednesday, Feb. 16 in a rematch with the Warriors. Game time at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation is 7:00 p.m.
