
Everett Brings Rockets' Streak to a Halt

The Kelowna Rockets eight-game win streak came to an end on Sunday evening with a 6-2 loss to the Everett Silvertips at the Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, WA.
Kelowna was wrapping up the last of three games in three nights, which saw the Rockets pick up victories in Spokane on Friday and Tri-City last night. The Western Conference leading Silvertips entered the contest riding their own seven-game win streak.
Everett's power play flexed on the night, going four-for-six.
Hemmed in their own end for the majority the opening period, the Rockets fell behind 2-0 on a pair of power play goals from Ryan Hofer (20) and Olen Zellweger (9).
Ben Hemmerling (6) pushed the 'Tips out to a commanding 3-0 lead early in the second period. Mark Liwiski(14) capitalized on a five-on-three with a strong backhand to get the Rockets on the board. Two minutes later, defenceman Jake Lee (12) pulled Kelowna within one. Jacob Wright (17) and Ryan Hofer (21) pushed back for Everett.
Jackson Berezowski (31) added another power play maker before the end of the game. The Rockets had two power play chances, capitalizing on one of them. Everett outshot the Rockets 43-32.
With the loss, Kelowna's record moves to 24-11-1-3.
The Rockets will now return home on Wednesday, February 9th when the Rockets will once again host the Vancouver Giants at Prospera Place. Select Your Tickets is open 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and opens at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday home game days. The home game that the Rockets play on February 9th is home game number 21. The postponed game against the Giants that was set for January 7th has yet to be rescheduled, a new date for that game is expected to be announced soon. The Rockets thank you for your patience.
