ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (25-12-2-4), four-time Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, fell to the Idaho Steelheads (27-13-1-3) by a 4-1 score in front of a sellout crowd of 9,483 on Friday evening at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

The Steelheads opened the scoring when Taylor Peters stole the puck in the neutral zone and made his way around a Reign defender and launched a shot past Joe Cannata at 10:46.

Brett Robinson added a goal for Idaho in the final seconds of the opening period when he hammered a back door feed from David de Kastrozza into the net at 19:51.

One minute into the second period, Alex Belzile took a long stretch pass from Gaelan Patterson and broke in on Cannata, beating the goalie between the legs.

Jefferson Dahl added to Ontario's woes when he drove the net, eventually forcing Cannata to commit to the attacking forward, and Dahl slid the puck between the pads of the netminder at 4:10.

Midway through the second period, the Reign went to the man advantage after Peters slashed Judd Blackwater in the neutral zone. On the ensuing power-play, Rocco Carzo tipped a rebound from Dennis Brown past Olivier Roy at 13:33 to get Ontario on the board.

Neither team scored in the third period, as the Steelheads hung on to deal Ontario its first regulation loss at home since Dec. 21.

Cannata took the loss with 30 saves; Roy picked up the win with 28 stops.
