Stockton Thunder News Release

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, owned by the Calgary Flames and proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce that forward Lukas Sutter receives his first call-up of his career from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Sutter, 21, is currently leading the Thunder in penalty minutes with 156 and leads all ECHL rookies in the same category. In 40 games with Stockton this season, Sutter has scored 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists) and has put a total of 69 shots on net. The forward registered his first pro point, an assist, on October 25 before scoring his first pro goal on November 11.

The 21-year-old rookie earns his first call-up on the heels of being named to the 2015 ECHL All-Star Game, in which he had 2 assists and finished with a plus-2 rating in the 8-4 All-Stars victory over the Orlando Solar Bears.

The New York Islanders selected Sutter in the seventh-round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and he has spent his entire pro career thus far with the Stockton Thunder.

The Thunder host the Utah Grizzlies tonight for Law & Order night, a celebration of those brave men and women who protect and serve our community. The Thunder will also give a replica jersey to the first 500 fans 12-years-old and younger tonight! For tickets to the game call (209) 373-1500 or visit StocktonThunder.com .
