Tonight's Matchup: Tonight the Cyclones are back home to close out a busy week with their annual Pink in the Rink Night at U.S. Bank Arena against the Reading Royals. Tonight marks the first of just three regular season meetings between the two non-division foes, all of which will be played here in Downtown Cincy.
Tonight's Promotion: Pink in the Rink Night - The ice will be painted pink and the Cyclones will wear specialty jerseys that get auctioned off after the game to benefit Pink Ribbon Girls!
Scouting the Royals: Larry Courville's club has enjoyed a recent surge of late with win in five consecutive games. They hung on for a 3-2 win last night against the Indy Fuel and now sit two points behind East Division leading Florida. Pat Mullane leads the Royals and ranks 8th in the ECHL with 41 points (14g, 27a) in 42 games while former Cyclone Cam Reid has collected 38 tallies (17g, 21a) in 42 contests. Former Miami RedHawks goaltender Connor Knapp has led the way in net for the Royals, collecting a 14-7-0 record with a 2.93 goals-against average. Philadelphia Flyers prospect Martin Ouellette has been recently sent down to the Royals again; this season in the ECHL, he's posted a 11-8-1-1 record and a 2.85 GAA.
Last Time Out: A three point night for Martin Frk led the Walleye past the Cyclones by a 4-0 final score in front of 6,094 at Huntington Center last night. It was just the third time this season that the Cyclones were held off the scoreboard.
Still Stifling Shots: Cincinnati continues to hold off its opponents at an impressive rate in the shots-on-goal department. On average, they are allowing just 27.95 shots per game, the third-fewest of any ECHL team and second-fewest in the Eastern Conference.
Three or Less: The Cyclones have found their best success this season when holding their teams to three goals or less. In such situations this season, they own a staggering 18-5-0-1 record. Their last 16 wins have come this way.
