Reign Fall in Overtime Thriller to Condors

Bakersfield, CA - Forward Teddy Purcell picked up a goal and an assist, but the Ontario Reign (29-16-9-0) fell to the Bakersfield Condors (26-21-5-1) 3-2 in overtime at Rabobank Arena Friday night.
Game Summary
The Condors controlled the play in the opening period, outshooting the Reign 11-3, but the Reign defense and goaltender Jack Campbell (OTL, 33 saves on 36 shots) kept the contest scoreless through the first 20 minutes.
In the second period, the Condors continued to pressure and drew a penalty shot at 13:26 as forward Anton Lander was hauled down on a breakaway by Jonny Brodzinski. Campbell denied Lander with the leg pads. The Condors would break through at 16:44 when forward Scott Allen caught a cross-ice pass and buried the puck past Campbell. Less than two minutes later, the Reign forward Teddy Purcell made it 1-1 sneaking a shot under the pads of Condors goalie Jonas Gustavsson (W, 26 saves on 28 shots) at 18:17.
Condors forward Josh Currie regained the lead 12:31 into the third period knocking a rebound past Campbell, but the Reign again retaliated quickly with a power-play marker from forward Jonny Brodzinski at 13:42. The two teams battled to the end of regulation time and entered overtime for the third time in the head-to-head series.
In the extra skate, Reign forward T.J. Hensick broke loose for a breakaway, but was denied by Gustavsson and the Condors countered with a game-winning rush 65 seconds into the frame as forward Joey LaLeggia sealed the victory. The Reign finished the game 1-for-3 on the power play while the Condors went 0-for-3.
