ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (35-11-1-2), defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, were the first team in the league to take a Kelly Cup playoff spot with a 4-3 shootout win over the San Francisco Bulls (17-23-1-6) before 6,620 on Friday night.

Reign stretched game to a seven-round shootout against the Bulls. Brady Calla scored the third tally in the final round to secure a spot for the Reign in the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

At the 6:08 mark of the second period Kyle Kraemer gave the Reign a 1-0 lead. He picked up a cross-ice pass from C.J. Stretch at the Bulls blue line and stickhandled it in around the left circle. As he out-skated the Bulls defense, the puck slid off his stick finding the gap between Taylor Nelson's skate and the post. Derek Couture also earned an assist on the play.

The scoring ignited in the final period with a total of five goals; two Reign goals, three Bulls goal to end regulation tied 3-3.

Mario Lamoureux intercepted a Bulls pass in the neutral zone and skated it in on a breakaway. His shot was stopped and rebounded for Kevin Estrada to pick up for a backhanded, top-shelf goal.

Kraemer struck again scoring an unassisted, breakaway goal after stealing the puck from a floundering Bulls defenseman.

San Francisco found their momentum at the 11:24 mark of the third when they scored their first of three goals in a row. Dean Ouellet and Christian Ouellet had a give-and-go play into the Reign zone resulting in a wraparound goal from Dean.

A little less than five minutes later, former Reign player Jordan Morrison scored off a pass from Alex Tuckerman to bring the Reign's lead to just one goal. When the Reign were closing in on the win, the Bulls charged the net and Cody Carlson tied it up sending the game into overtime followed by a shootout.

Chris Carrozzi extending his win streak to three games with 23 saves on 26 shots and two shootout goals; Nelson took his fourth loss against the Reign allowing three goals on 27 shots and three shootout goals.
