Reign and Condors Scrap over Pacific-Division Ground Tonight

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), visit the Bakersfield Condors today at 7:00 PT at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California. Tonight is the sixth of 12 meetings between the two teams this season.

The Last Time We Met:

The Reign enter tonight's contest with a 4-1-0-0 head-to-head record against the Condors and earned a 2-1 overtime victory in the last meeting between the two teams on December 20 in Ontario, California. Forward Sean Backman scored 21 seconds into the extra session. Reign forward Kris Newbury (four goals, one assist) and defenseman Vincent LoVerde (one goal, four assists) lead the Reign and the series with five points each.

Quick Road Trip:

Tonight's game is the lone road contest in a sea of home games for the Reign at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Last night, the Reign completed a five-game homestand (2-3-0) and start another five-game homestand on Friday against San Diego.

Dowd's Chances are Paying Off:

Reign forward Nic Dowd has two goals and four assists for six points in his last six games and fired 26 shots during that six-game stretch including a season-high nine shots on goal on January 2 vs. Charlotte.

Ontario's Workhorse Continues to Ride:

Goaltender Peter Budaj has started the last 16 consecutive games for the Reign and has appeared in all but three games this season. Budaj leads the AHL with 1625:32 minutes played and holds a 164 minute lead over Yann Danis of the Albany Devils.
