
Register, Sdao Returned from AHL, Sanford Loaned To Eagles

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced Monday that defenseman Michael Sdao has been returned to the Eagles from the team's AHL affiliate the San Antonio Rampage, while defenseman Matt Register has been returned from his loan to the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL. In addition, forward Cole Sanford has been loaned to Colorado by the Rampage.
Sanford recently concluded a five-year career in the Western Hockey League with the Medicine Hat Tigers and Regina Pats. The Vernon, British Columbia native collected 249 points in 260 WHL games, including 126 goals. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound center is coming off a season split between Medicine Hat and Regina in which he netted 41 goals, added 29 assists and served as the Tigers' captain. Sanford posted a career-high 50 goals and 45 assists during the 2014-15 campaign and collected 33 goals and 40 assists during the 2013-14 season, also earning him WHL East All-Star honors.
Sdao has spent the past three seasons in the AHL with the Binghamton Senators and Rochester Americans, generating 22 points and 336 penalty minutes, while playing at a cumulative +11 in 135 games. A 7th round pick of the Ottawa Senators in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Sdao registered 54 points and 236 penalty minutes in four seasons at Princeton University. During his time at the NCAA level, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound native of Niwot, Colorado was named to the All-Ivy League First Team on two separate occasions, while also being named to the ECAC All-Star Team during his junior season.
Register is coming off a season in which he captured an ECHL Championship with the Allen Americans, after starting the year with the Atlanta Gladiators. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound blueliner was named the ECHL Defenseman of the Year during the 2013-14 season with the Ontario Reign and also earned a spot on the ECHL All-Star Team in both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 campaigns. The Calgary, Alberta native has posted 144 points in 197 ECHL games, after beginning his professional career in the Central Hockey League with the Allen Americans, Arizona Sundogs and Tulsa Oilers.
