Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Monday that the team has received a pair of defensemen from American Hockey League (AHL) training camps. Alexander Kuqali has returned from the Albany Devils, while Chase Golightly rejoins the 'Blades from the Bakersfield Condors. Both players agreed to terms with the Everblades earlier this summer.
Kuqali (pronounced KOO-call-EEE), 25, logged a goal and two assists in six games played with the Everblades late last season. Kuqali recorded a goal in his professional debut with Florida in a game at Orlando on March 30. Prior to joining the Everblades, the 6-2, 235-pound defenseman concluded his four-year collegiate career at R.I.T. totaling 59 points (13g, 46a) from 2012-2016.
Golightly, 24, recorded six points (1g, 5a) in nine regular season appearances with the 'Blades last spring. Golightly also chipped in four assists in six postseason contests. The 5-10, 180-pound blueliner joined the Everblades late last season after concluding his senior campaign at Robert Morris University where he recorded a career high 24 points (5g, 19a) in 39 games played. The Temecula, CA native totaled 60 career points during his four-seasons at Robert Morris from 2012-2016.
As a result of today's transactions, the Everblades have released goaltender David Donzanti from their training camp roster.
