
Oilers Ink Brewer, Trade Ramsay to Fuel

TULSA, OK - The Tulsa Oilers, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets and AHL's Manitoba Moose, re-signed the club's top returning goal-scorer Phil Brewer on Monday. The Oilers also traded forward Brady Ramsay to the Indy Fuel for future considerations, and released five players from their tryout agreements, including forwards Trever Hertz, Andrew Magee, Chris Porter and Doug Reid, and defenseman Jake Flegel.
Brewer, 26, returns to Tulsa for his second pro season, after appearing in the Rockford IceHogs' AHL camp. The Cambridge, ON native led the Oilers in goals (26) as a rookie in 2015-16, and finished with 48 points (26-2248) in 71 games. Brewer turned pro in March 2015 after his junior season at Bemidji State University, and skated in 11 contests for Tulsa at the end of the 2014-15 season.
Ramsay, 23, enters his third pro season after posting 20 points (8-1220) and 102 penalty minutes in 66 games for the Oilers in 2015-16. The Calgary, AB native also finished the 2014-15 season in Tulsa, where he appeared in 28 games for the Oilers after starting the season with the Ontario Reign. The Fuel will be Ramsay's fourth ECHL team.
As of Monday night, the Oilers' training camp roster contains 21 players:

Defensemen (8): Dennis Brown (ECHL), Wes Cunningham (ECHL), Eric Drapluk (ECHL), Chris Joyaux (ECHL), Nolan Julseth-White (ECHL), Brandon Martell (ECHL), Jacob Poe (ECHL), Petr Senkerik (ECHL)
Goaltenders (2): Troy Davenport (T/O), Steven Summerhays (ECHL)
ECHL teams must submit their opening day roster to the league by 2pm CST on Wednesday, October 12. Teams can carry a maximum of 20 active players (21 for the first 30 days of the season) on their active roster (not counting players on reserve or injured reserve).
The Oilers begin their third ECHL season October 15th when the team travels to face the Wichita Thunder. The Home Opener is Friday, October 21st, when Tulsa begins its ninth season of play at the BOK Center.
