
Register Named to All-ECHL First Team

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, four-time ECHL Pacific Division Champions and proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's 2014 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and Winnipeg Jets, are proud to announce that defenseman Matt Register has been named to the 2015 All-ECHL First Team.
Register, 25, becomes the first player in Reign history to capture All-ECHL First Team honors in consecutive seasons, after first receiving the honor in 2013-14. He is also the first ECHL defenseman to accomplish the feat of being named All-ECHL First Team in back-to-back seasons since Eric Regan in 2009-10 with Bakersfield and 2010-11 with Elmira. He is currently third among ECHL blueliners with a career-high 50 points (14g-36a) and his 14 goals are tied for third.
This is Register's third season with the Reign. The Calgary, Alberta native joined the team midway through his first full pro campaign in 2012-13. He is the club's all-time leader in career goals by a defenseman with 32, and has posted 107 points (32g-75a) and 124 penalty minutes in 142 career games with Ontario.
