
Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis Named to All-ECHL First Team for Second Straight Season

North Charleston, S.C. - South Carolina Stingrays goaltender Jeff Jakaitis has been named to the All-ECHL First Team for the second straight season and the third time in the last four seasons, the ECHL and Stingrays announced today.
Jakaitis, 31, leads the league with six shutouts and a 2.01 goals-against average while ranking second with a .922 save percentage. The Rochester, Minnesota, native set ECHL records this season with a 15-game winning streak, four consecutive shutouts and a 321:46 shutout streak.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound goaltender is also the reigning Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month and shared the award with fellow Stingrays netminder Adam Morrison in February, extending his monthly selection to an ECHL-record six times. In 36 appearances with the Stingrays this season, Jakaitis is 25-8-2.

The Stingrays close the regular-season schedule on Saturday, April 11 against the Evansville IceMen at 7:05 at the North Charleston Coliseum on Fan Appreciation Night and The Post and Courier Hall of Fame Night. The first 1,000 fans receive a 2014-15 Stingrays team photo courtesy of Sheila Lauffer of Data Imaging and a new member of The Post and Courier Stingrays Hall of Fame will be inducted during the first intermission.
