
All-ECHL First and Second Teams Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Thursday announced its All-ECHL First and Second Teams for 2014-15 as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards.
2014-15 All-ECHL First Team
G - Jeff Jakaitis, South Carolina Stingrays (36 gp, 25-8-2, 2.01 GAA, .922 save pct.)
D - Mike Little, Florida Everblades (60 gp, 13g, 40a, 53 pts., +43)
D - Matt Register, Ontario Reign (58 gp, 14g, 36a, 50 pts., +18)
F - Chad Costello, Allen Americans (69 gp, 40g, 78a, 118 pts., +39)
F - Wade MacLeod, Idaho Steelheads (72 gp, 38g, 42a, 80 pts., +23)
F - Shawn Szydlowski, Fort Wayne Komets (55 gp, 38g, 35a, 73 pts., +38)
The ECHL will announce the Community Service Award and Sportsmanship Award winners on Friday.
Jeff Jakaitis of the South Carolina Stingrays has been named to the All-ECHL First Team for the second consecutive year and for the third time in the last four seasons. He leads the league with six shutouts and a 2.01 goals-against average while ranking second with a .922 save percentage. He set ECHL records this season with a 15-game winning streak, four consecutive shutouts and a 321:46 shutout streak .
Mike Little of the Florida Everblades is tied for first among ECHL defensemen with 53 points, is tied for fifth with 13 goals and is fourth with 40 assists. He is second overall in the league, and among defensemen, with a +43 rating.
Matt Register of the Ontario Reign is on the All-ECHL First Team for the second straight season. He is third among ECHL blue liners with 50 points and his 14 goals are tied for third.
Chad Costello of the Allen Americans leads the ECHL in both assists (78) and points (118). His 118 points is tied for the 13th most in ECHL history and is the most in the league since John Spoltore had 119 points in 1999-2000. Costello also leads the league with 33 power-play assists and 42 power-play points while ranking fourth in plus-minus at +39. He has scored at least one point in all but eight games this season.
Wade MacLeod of the Idaho Steelheads is tied for fourth in the league with 38 goals and is second with 80 points. He is tied for the league lead with 302 shots on goal and is tied for fourth with 11 power-play goals.
Shawn Szydlowski of the Fort Wayne Komets is tied for fifth in the ECHL with 38 goals and is tied for seventh with 73 points despite playing in just 55 games this season. On March 21, he became just the 29th player in league history to score at least five goals in a game, and tied the league record with three shorthanded goals. He leads the league with eight shorthanded points (4g-4a) and is fifth in plus-minus at +38.

F - Adam Brace, Florida Everblades (68 gp, 33g, 35a, 68 pts., +27)
F - Brendan Connolly, Alaska Aces (61 gp, 31g, 46a, 77 pts., +13)
F - Gary Steffes, Allen Americans (63 gp, 44g, 29a, 73 pts., +31)
Jeff Lerg of the Toledo Walleye is tied for the league lead with 31 wins, is tied for second with a 2.32 goals-against average, ranks third with a .921 save percentage and is fifth with 1,143 saves. He is tied for second in the league with four shutouts.
Cameron Burt of the Florida Everblades is tied for second among ECHL defensemen with 41 assists, is fourth in plus-minus at +35 and is fifth with 47 points. His four game-winning goals are tied for third among blue liners.
Aaron Gens of the Allen Americans leads all defensemen with 45 assists and is tied for first with 53 points. He leads all blue liners with 19 power-play assists and his 22 power-play points is third among defensemen.
Adam Brace of the Florida Everblades is tied for ninth in the league with 33 goals and he has added 35 assists for 68 points in 68 games. He has scored six game-winning goals this season, which is tied for sixth in the league.
Brendan Connolly of the Alaska Aces is tied for third in the ECHL with 77 points and is tied for 12th with 31 goals. His nine power-play goals are tied for 12th in the league and he is tied for fifth with three shorthanded assists.
Gary Steffes of the Allen Americans leads the league with 44 goals and is tied for seventh with 73 points. His 18 power-play goals are also the most in the league and he ranks third with 25 power-play points. Steffes has eight game-winning goals, which is tied for second, and he is seventh with 232 shots on goal.
