ECHL Announces Fines, Suspension

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Thursday announced the following fines and suspension result from ECHL Game #737, Utah at Idaho, on April 8.

Utah's Alex Gallant has been suspended for six games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions at 8:04 of the third period.

Gallant is suspended for five games under Rule #70.10 and is suspended one game under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline as a result of a major penalty for spearing.

Gallant will miss Utah's games at Colorado on April 10 and April 11. Should Utah qualify for the Kelly Cup Playoffs, he will miss the team's first four postseason games. If Utah does not qualify for the playoffs, he will miss the first four games of the 2015-16 regular season.

Utah's Danick Paquette has been fined an undisclosed amount under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline as a result of his actions at 8:04 of the third period.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.
