
Brendan Connolly Named All-ECHL Second Team Honoree

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, three time Kelly Cup champions, announced that veteran forward and Aces captain Brendan Connolly has been named to the All-ECHL Second Team for 2014-15 as determined in a vote by the league's coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and members of the media.
Connolly, 29, is one of 24 players in Aces history to earn an All-ECHL selection with a career-high in goals (31), assists (46) and points (77) in 61 games, his first season as Aces captain. Connolly ranks tied for third in league scoring, tied for 12th in goals, tied for seventh in assists and tied for 12th in game winning goals (6).
The 5-foot-9, 185 pound forward has also posted 24 multi point games, five multi goal games, 110 penalty minutes and a +13 rating. This year, he became the first Ace since Wes Goldie (2010-11) to collect two hat tricks in one season, increasing his career total to five hat tricks.
Connolly also tied an Aces record this season with five points in one game, set on Dec. 5 at Stockton.
As a returning player from last season's Kelly Cup championship team, he was named ECHL Player of the Month for March, leading the Aces to an 8-2-2 record in the month when rallying from 10 points behind to gain control of the fourth playoff spot in the Pacific Division on Mar. 29.
The All-ECHL honor is the first in Connolly's career. He has 331 points (142g-189a) in 329 career ECHL games with Alaska, Greenville and Elmira.
