
Three Americans Named to All-ECHL Teams

Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas -The ECHL announced today that Chad Costello has been named to the All-ECHL 1st Team, while Gary Steffes and Aaron Gens have been named to the All-ECHL 2nd Team.
Chad Costello leads the ECHL with 118 points and is the active leader in goals with 40. In addition to his personal highs, he broke the Americans all-time high in points and assists for a single season. The previous high was set by Colton Yellow Horn, who had 88 points in the 2010-2011 campaign. Costello is 13th on the ECHL all-time points list, and has the most in a season since John Spoltore had 119 back in the '99-'00 season.
Gary Steffes is currently on loan to Milwaukee of the American League. Steffes had 44 goals before he was loaned to the Admirals, and currently has 4 goals in 8 games in the AHL this season.
Aaron Gens is currently tied for the ECHL lead in points by a defenseman with 53. He signed with Allen as a free agent this year, after playing in 46 games last season with Reading. Gens has reached personal highs in goal, assists and points this year with the Americans.
The Americans host Rapid City tonight and tomorrow night, and then travel to Wichita to wrap up the regular season on Saturday night.
The Americans will wear special JDRF jerseys tonight to be auctioned off after the game, with a portion of the proceeds going to JDRF in efforts to promote juvenile diabetes research.
